I’m Leslie Evans and I'm third generation portrait photographer. I’ve spent the first part of my life in front of the camera and the last half behind it. I graduated with a BA from California State University Fullerton (CSUF) then proceeded to Art Center in Pasadena, California. My photography has always been a staple in my graphic design career. Recently I crossed over from amateur to professional photographer. I'm a graduate of New York Institute of Photography (NYIP). Yes you can learn photography online. I'm a member of Professional Photographers of America (PPA), Florida Professional Photographers (FPP), and Jacksonville Professional Photographers Guild (JPPG). The education, mentoring and encouragement I have received by being a member of these organizations has truly elevated my technical skill and pushed my creativity.
On a personal note Matthew and I have been married for twenty plus years. We have one daughter named Kaitlin who’s thespian roots have given me the opportunity to photograph local theatre productions, and I love it. Put me in a dark place with dramatic lighting and I’m a happy girl.
I think I’m hysterical. I love tacos, peanut butter and the crusty outer edges of baked goods. I love all things Disney. I wept both times I read Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows...I knew it was coming, but I still wept. I have been fortunate enough to travel to Tahiti, Japan, Canada (does that count?) Mexico, London and Paris. My favorite travel adventure so far has been the Fat Tire Bike Tour through Paris. I highly recommend it.
